Behind the Lens

OF RÉKA

Based in Budapest, photographing people, events and concepts since 2023

photography for me is a way of remembering and curating subjective experiences

A bit about me

Hi, I’m Réka.

Photography has been a constant journey of learning for me, one that never really ends, and that’s exactly what makes it so exciting. I’ve had the privilege of learning from incredible mentors, and I feel truly lucky to spend my days doing what I love most.

Alongside my commissioned work, I’m deeply drawn to conceptual photography, and I’m always exploring personal projects behind the scenes.

In my client work, I focus mainly on portraits and events, capturing genuine moments and connections.

Selected Work: 2024, Our Roots

This is a fraction of my ever growing collection of trees. I have always had a fascination of time and nature and for me a tree is where these concepts perfectly collide. They hold time in a very silent yet monumental way. They see long periods of time and only one place. Very different than how a human experiences life. The branches resemble a human brain, with synapses and signals through the entirity of the organism. For me they are a breathing statue of memory which I'm so afraid to lose in my own life. By taking a picture I always remember the place of the trees, and in many cases, do return to see them.
